April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started with guitar and piano in seventh grade. This sparked curiosity. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her first song Different. She spent lots of the time of 14 making songs and practicing music. The following months, she began taking writing excursions along with her father to LA and NY. April began to include additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and being a partner with clean beauty brands Ilia she has gained an impressive following. She was born without a left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on Instagram, but she does not make it the main focus of the post. What is the message? The message is that we are more than the physical person we are. Our identities are complicated and include a myriad of elements. I don't want that to be the only thing that defines me. I don't want to be a disability influencer where that's all I discuss because there are many different things about my life. Lockhart states in video form from her home in Nashville. This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I carry on doing my job as normal and have come up with different ways of adapting. But it's also a part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. Lockhart has served as an excellent source of inspiration for her female friends in the area of acceptance of oneself. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance, and the clothes with arms. She is able to wear anything she'd like, and proudly shares photos of her in these outfits. For her, self-love is an extended trip. This is, however, the case with anyone with doubts. I think it's essential to surround yourself with people who are able to see and know your true heart.
